Eight-year-old Efe travels to İzmir with his family to visit his grandfather, Hakkı (70). While the holiday promises excitement for his older sister Hira (15), it initially seems rather dull for Efe.

Everything changes when he meets Ceren (8), a member of a local chess team, at the market. When Ceren and her friends challenge him to a game, Efe finds himself in unfamiliar territory, having never played chess before. He turns to his grandfather for help, only to be refused.

Soon, mysterious chess pieces come to life to teach Efe the game. As this magical adventure unfolds, it not only transforms his summer into an unforgettable experience but also helps heal long-standing wounds within the family.
